Tondabo Village Invests in the Solution
The village of Tondabo, near Lake Lobo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a desperate place where the region's natural resources and its people are being routinely exploited. Recently this community of 1,000 people held a dedication and celebration of their first Water4-assisted water well.
Because of the community's collective contribution of more than $200, along with food, gravel, sand and labor, Water4 teams are now conducting geophysical surveying at the site for a second well.
Community contribution and ownership of their own clean water sites is critical to sustaining the solution forever. In 2015, villages served by Water4 teams collectively contributed more than $20,000 toward solving their own water crisis.
